The 2-week University of Bristol Archaeology Field Summer School is a field-based summer school that offers a unique opportunity to excavate a recently discovered site from the Medieval Anarchy period

This summer school is designed for students with or without previous site-based experience. They welcome applications from all majors, but it is particularly suited to anthropology, archaeology, history, sociology, conversation and, heritage museum studies students.

Credit Equivalent 

10 UK Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units if 10 UK Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Costs

The program fee is approximately $5,300 AUD which includes tuition, site-costs, excavation materials, transport to/from sites as required, accommodation, some meals, social programme, arrival transportation.

Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by mid-May if they are eligible for travel grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.
