My experience

I decided to complete a short term experience because I've wanted to go on an exchange, however, not for a full semester. My sister had previously gone on exchange and had told me the countless experiences she had that further enticed me. Also, I've always wanted to go to South America so when I saw a course was offered there it solidified my thought.

How has the experience changed you?

Personally, it improved my Spanish languages skills to a level I had not achieved previously despite my high school studies as well as seeing and learning so much about South America that I had not known about previously. Academically, I passed the course with knowledge gained in Argentine history as well as Public Policy and Community Development that adds to my degree. Professionally, it is great resume material for further job employment.

Favourite memory

My favourite memory from the experience was just the little things of after going to class from 9am-12pm each day, I would walk a couple blocks from my classroom to a 92 year old restaurant and order 2 Baked Chicken Empanadas with a Local Soft Drink for $3.

Top tips

Even if you have the slightest thought about going on exchange, DO IT! It was an amazing experience and was made even better as I got to study a course relevant to my degree, in a country I've wanted to go to for so long! Also, know some of the local language.
