The SNU International Summer Program presents a unique opportunity for students to experience academic life at Seoul National University, Korea's most prestigious university and one of the leading universities in the world. 

SNU International Summer Institute's intensive four-week summer program offers participants the chance to learn in-depth from experts on Korea and East Asia, as well as a range of topics from the disciplines of Economics and Business Management to History, Sociology and Arts. The program also provides courses on Korean language and traditional arts, for students wishing to advance their Korean language abilities while immersing in Korea's contemporary and traditional culture.

Credit equivalent 

3 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 6 Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the SNU entry requirements.

If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.  

This experience impacts UQ semester 2 teaching dates. UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact teaching dates.

Cost

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. Tuition fees will be approximately $2,100 - $4,000 AUD depending on the number of courses undertaken. Accommodation and administration fees are an additional cost. Early bird discounts may be available.

Funding

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant 

Eligible students are guaranteed a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant valued at $3,000 AUD when participating in this experience.

When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
