The Shih Chien University Summer China Program (“USC SCP”) is dedicated to providing world-class higher education in Taiwan. 

The Summer China Program allows students to take general education courses or Asian language and studies and enjoy a packed calendar of social, cultural, and business development programs. USC gives students a packed social calendar of culture events. Students will find Asian traditions and culture intriguing and entertaining, as well as a valuable resource in coming to understand Asia and its people.

Credit Equivalent 

3 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 6 Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and Application

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and the SCP entry requirements. Students are required to have a minimum GPA of 4.5.

This is a competitive program and places are limited. An application does not guarantee participation.

Cost

The tuition fee is approximately $4,158 - $5,688 AUD depending on the number of courses chosen. Tuition discounts may be available if your application is submitted by the early application deadlines. More information regarding fees can be found on the host program website. 

Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding.

Scholarships and Funding

Full-tuition scholarships are available to 2 domestic (Australian Citizen) students. 

Students are required to cover costs associated with visa, insurance, flights and accommodation spending money. The awardees for these scholarships will be determined/confirmed by the Global Experiences Team once all applications have been received and after the final deadline. 

Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding.

Accommodation 

Accommodation is not included in the program. More information regarding accommodation please contact the program provider directly.

OS-HELP Loan

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.
