Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) enjoys a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People's Republic of China and co-constructed by MOE and Shanghai Municipal Government. Through 121 years' unremitting efforts, SJTU has become a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university in China. To facilitate the internationalization of our university and to offer more courses taught in English, SJTU runs summer school and invites students from other universities to study at SJTU.

Credit Equivalent 

4 Credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ units if 4 credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad: The program fee is approximately $3,950 AUD and will vary depending on the number of courses selected. Detailed information regarding program fees and inclusions can be found on the host program website


Applicants will be considered for only one grant per application round. Applicants are encouraged to review the Short-Term Experiences Funding information for further details.   

New Colombo Plan Virtual Mobility Grant

A limited number of $1,050 AUD New Colombo Plan Virtual Mobility Grants are available for eligible Shanghai Jiao Tong University International Summer School students.
