Ritsumeikan University Summer Japanese Program
The Ritsumeikan University Summer Japanese Program- Session 2 (RSJP2) is designed for undergraduate students offering a comprehensive introduction to Japanese language and culture.
RSJP2 offers language levels from introductory to advanced. RSJP consists of two major subjects: intensive Japanese language classes and Japanese Studies classes to learn about Japanese culture and take part in fieldwork excursions. Students will have opportunities to feel and understand the Japanese culture by joining fieldwork to various cultural spots such as World Heritage sites or tea ceremony in Kyoto, the center of Japanese culture.

UQ students are able to participate in the Ritsumeikan Summer Japanese Program: Session Two (RSJP2). The following fields of study are available:

Credit equivalent
RSJP2 course = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of the RSJP2 (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the standard UQ Abroad Student Eligibility Criteria and the RSJP2 entry requirements.
This program impacts on UQ semester 2 dates, UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact teaching dates.
If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to IGET at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.
Costs
The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad. The program fee is approximately $3,000 AUD.

Funding
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant
Eligible students are guaranteed a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant valued at $3,000 AUD when participating in this experience.
When you submit your application to the Internships and Global Experiences team, you are automatically considered. There is no additional application required. Applicants will need to submit supporting documentation (host acceptance, bank details) by the relevant deadline.
