Join the Law & Social Justice Internship in Tanzania and kick-start your legal career. You’ll work with professional human rights lawyers and help to protect the rights of women and children in Tanzania. We set up this Human Rights Project specifically to help address issues of gender inequality that are prevalent in this country.

Experience

You’ll experience many aspects of human rights law through these activities:

  • Research cases and conduct interviews to find out about human rights issues on the ground
  • Give presentations about human rights to help raise awareness
  • Prepare people for court by role-playing different courtroom scenario

Your human rights work in Tanzania will focus on the following areas:

  • Research work and interviews
  • Human rights awareness
  • Prepare individuals for court

Cost

The program fee varies depending on program length. For a 4-week internship, the program fee is approximately $4,255 AUD. More information regarding what is included in the program fee can be found on the host program website

Accommodation 

Housing is included in the program fee.

Credit for Internships

Some students may be able to receive credit towards their UQ program pending faculty approval. The Global Experiences Team is unable to provide further advice regarding internships for credit.
