Develop your analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills with a research experience.

The UQ Summer Research Program provides UQ students with an opportunity to gain research experience working alongside some of the university’s leading academics and researchers.

All successful Summer Research Scholars will receive a scholarship for the duration of their research (between 6-10 weeks).

3. Submit your application

Applications for the 2018-19 UQ Summer Research Program will open on Tuesday, 9 July 2018.

You will be required to submit an online application via StudentHub specifying details of the project you wish to apply for.

You can only apply for one project, but you are welcome to list a second preference within the same research unit on your application.

We strongly recommend that you contact your preferred supervisor before applying to discuss the project and ascertain if they will support your application.

Some research units may request you to provide a "supporting statement from a UQ supervisor" as a part of the application. Please upload a copy of any email correspondence you have had with your preferred supervisor regarding your suitability to participate in that research project. This can be uploaded as a PDF copy of the original email at the end of the application form.

No late applications are permitted.
