The Kochi University Japanese Language Studies Program is designed for undergraduate students offering a comprehensive introduction to Japanese language and culture.

Kochi City sits on the southern coast of Shikoku, one of the four main islands of Japan. The city is small and people are friendly. Kochi Prefecture offers numerous attractions of interest to travellers: a well-preserved castle, 16 of the 88 temples along the Shikoku Pilgrimage, beautiful mountains, rivers and the ocean.

Students must have completed JAPN1013 or equivalent. More information regarding the course can be found in the program syllabus and program schedule

Credit equivalent

2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of the Kochi Program (pending UQ faculty approval). Students are likely to receive credit toward JAPN1023, pending UQ Faculty approval.

Costs

Tuition is paid to UQ. All other fees are paid to Kochi University and are approximately $200 AUD.

Accommodation 

Accommodation is not included in the program fee.
