The campus is situated in rolling parkland on the edge of Brighton. Though surrounded by the South Downs National Park, Sussex is just 10 minutes out of the city and is within easy reach of London.

Accommodation

The University of Sussex provides a number of resources to help students find suitable accommodation on their housing webpage. If you are studying at Sussex for the full academic year, you are guaranteed University-managed accommodation (which might be on- or off-campus) if you apply by the relevant deadline. Single-semester exchange students are not guaranteed accommodation.

Financial support

A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.  

Students studying at the University of Sussex can apply for a scholarship through BUTEX. BUTEX offers a number of £500 scholarships to students studying on exchange at member institutions.

Insurance

Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

Travel risk levels

The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
