Storrs is a town-within-a-town with plenty to make you feel at home. A diverse community, countless activities and entertainment, and the UConn "Huskies" sporting events are just the tip of the iceberg. The Storrs campus houses the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry and is the only institution in the US offering a master's degree in puppetry. The campus is located in the rolling hills of north eastern Connecticut, 3 hours from New York, 1.5 hours from Boston and 1 hour from Providence, Rhode Island.

GPA
You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.5 to study at UConn.
Study Options
Not applicable to this university. However, you will usually be expected to take the majority of courses (60%) within a single faculty.
Other Requirements
It is highly recommended you have a full study load of UQ general electives if you wish to study at UConn, as UConn does not provide course profiles.

Accommodation
Exchange students who apply for on-campus accommodation at UConn are guaranteed a room. UConn recommends that all exchange students live on campus in residence halls, as it is an important part of American university life. However, students can opt to find private off-campus accommodation. UConn's Off-Campus Student Services can help with this.
Cost of living
UConn provides an outline of the estimated cost of attendance for undergraduate students at Storrs. Keep in mind that exchange students do not pay tuition to their host university.
Additional Mandatory Fees
UConn has additional mandatory fees, for Transit, Activity & Technology fees. For more information, see the UConn exchange fact sheet. Additionally, laboratory fees and fees associated with field trips may be regarded as non-tuition, and therefore must be paid by the student.
Financial support
A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.
Insurance
Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.
Students will be automatically enrolled in the UConn Student Health Insurance Plan. More details can be found at the UConn Student Health Services page.
Exchange students may be eligible to waive the Health Insurance Plan if they have additional cover that meets UConn's minimum waiver requirements.
Before purchasing an additional policy, students should confirm that the policy meets UConn's minimum waiver requirements. Please note that the waiver of the Health Insurance Plan is not guaranteed and subject to approval from UConn.
A waiver is not automatic. Do not assume that a waiver will be approved or that you will receive a waiver based on the experience of a friend from UQ who studied at the same institution on exchange.

Travel risk levels
The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.
If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
