The Global Link School Internship in China provides an exciting opportunity for you to work in a selected Chinese school. 

You can expect to gain a unique Chinese experience and really boost your CV with authentic international work experience. This program includes a comprehensive orientation, excursions and in-country support to the interns.

    Visa Information

    It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences Team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

    Eligibility and application

    All applicants must meet the basic short-term experience eligibility criteria. Applicants must apply to UQ and to Global Link directly - please submit your Global Link application form (see "Apply to Host" link), cover letter and CV to Global Link.

    Cost

    The program fee is $2,000 AUD and includes: 

    • Internship placement
    • Pre-departure consultation and advice
    • Visa assistance & invitation letter
    • On-arrival airport pickup
    • Orientation program upon arrival
    • Accommodation
    • Travel Insurance
    • Excursions
    • 24/7 in-country support
    • Certificate at the end of the program

    Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding

    Accommodation 

    Accommodation is included in the cost of the program.

    Some Faculties allow students to receive credit towards their UQ program for internships or other non-study activities. The Global Experiences Team is unable to provide further advice regarding internships for credit. If you are interested in seeking credit, you must contact your Faculty/School directly for more information regarding your eligibility:

    Please note: If you are granted permission to receive credit for your participation in an internship program:

    • You may be responsible for paying UQ tuition fees in addition to the internship program fee
    • You may be eligible for funding provided through the OS-Help loan scheme

    OS-HELP Loan

    If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.
