4. Time on exchange
Find out your options for amending your exchange time period.
Coming home early
Sometimes, due to illness, personal or family issues students need to return home before finishing their exchange. If you need to return home early, please inform Global Experiences and the exchange office at your host university as soon as possible. Please also be aware that there may be implications returning home early, including:
- financial penalties for your host university accommodation,
- fees to reschedule your return flights,
- possible repayment of scholarships you received for your exchange, and
- financial liability for your exchange semester if you withdraw after Census Date.
Extending your exchange
It is not possible to extend your exchange for a second semester. If you wish to participate in another global experience, you might like to consider a short term program or apply for a second exchange.
