The 5-week Summer Session (Block 1) takes place in Singapore and offers a mix of classes which explore Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Sustainability as well as Business Management in Asia.

The programme is taught entirely in English, for Postgraudate level students only.

Credit Equivalent

2 courses in Block 1 only (5 ECTS each) = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ units upon successful completion of 3 courses (pending UQ faculty approval).

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the standard UQ Student Eligibility Criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by ESSEC School of Business.

This is a competitive program and students must obtain credit in order to participate in this program. Only 2 students will be selected via an internal UQ selection committee.

Applicants must complete the standard Global Experiences application and include a personal statement as to why they wish to be selected.

Successful applicants will be nominated to ESSEC by UQ after the selection committee meeting after the application deadline.

Tuition fees are paid to UQ. 

Additional costs, such as accommodation, registration fee, administration fee, class activities and visits, may be payable direct to ESSEC or other providers.

Applicants may be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by late-October if they are eligible for travel grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.


Accommodation is not included in the program cost.

Please note that these syllabi may be for 2018 or 2019 but are still relevant for the Summer 2019/20 study period.
