Drishtee Immersion - Global Connect Virtual Immersion
The Drishtee Immersion - Global Connect Virtual Immersion is a two-week transformative journey in intercultural empathy and self-leadership. The unique program engages with the best of online learning; short, live seminars and collaborative workshop activities, along with exciting off-line projects and cultural activities.
While you undertake the program from home, students in the partner community in rural India will also be undertaking their own skills development program. All participants will have opportunities to connect and share for authentic intercultural exchange in real-time. All participants receive a certificate of completion.
Experience
The Drishtee Immersion - Global Connect Virtual Immersion aims to empower for empathic, mindful, intercultural young leaders. Learning outcomes are for Australian and India students, to learn empathy and mindful self-leadership skills to be applied in any situation.
Drishtee Immersion is a 100% non-profit social enterprise created to empower the world with empathy. Your participation in Global Connect funds important community development projects in youth empowerment, agricultural livelihoods and access to water

Summer 2020/2021 Short-term Global Experiences (Virtual Offerings)
Virtual short-term global experiences offered during the Summer 2020/2021 application round are only available on a not-for-credit basis. The Global Experiences Team will not be assessing applications for credit in this round.
UQ may have a range of available summer course offerings (external and internal mode) for you to enrol in over the end of year period. Should you have any questions, please contact your Faculty directly.
Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the short-term experience eligibility criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by Drishtee Immersion.
Cost
The program fee is approximately $990 AUD. More information regarding fees can be found on the host organisation website.
Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by late-October if they are eligible for grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.
