The UQ Student Employability Centre is delighted to announce that six students from The University of Queensland are included in this year’s Winning and Highly Commended Entrants in the Undergraduate Awards (UA).
The Undergraduate Awards is the world’s leading undergraduate research awards programme which recognises top undergraduate work, shares this work with a global audience and connects students across cultures and disciplines.
Representatives of the University of Queensland received a highly commended honours in six categories of the Undergraduate Award:

Law Rebekkah Markey-Towler
Life Sciences Andre Mong Jie Ng
Social Sciences Aleesha Rodriquez
Economics Thu Hoang
Of the six students, we had two regional winners in the following categories:

This year UA received 6432 submissions from 299 institutions and 47 countries. Australia had a total of 557 submissions so an amazing achievement from our six students for being selected.
Highly Commended Entrants are ranked in the top 10% of all submissions to their specific category. You can find out more about the benefits of this wonderful achievement by visiting the UA website.
The UQ Student Employability Centre actively promoted and supported the Undergraduate Awards. In recognition of the outstanding achievement by our highly commended representatives and regional winners, the Student Employability Centre extended support by offering to pay for tickets to the UA Summit and Award ceremony in Dublin, Ireland in early November.
Andre Ng, Rebekkah Markey-Towler and Sarah Dickinson will be representing UQ at the UA Summit. The team in the Student Employability Centre wish them all the best.
