The Careers Service team were recently awarded the Australian Association of Graduate Employers 2016 Graduate Recruitment Industry Award in the category of Most Popular Careers Service in Australia after being nominated by employers.
This result has been achieved within a limited staffing budget of 6 individuals across a student base of 50,000. Mr Daniel Capper, the Senior Manager of the UQ Careers Service, accepted the award at the annual AAGE conference in Melbourne.
The team have also recently learned that all six of the students they conducted mock interviews with were successful in receiving the prestigious New Colombo Plan scholarship organised through DFAT. The programme allows students to study and undertake internships, research or other practical experience for up to one year in a country of their choice in the Indo-Pacific region.
