The AIM Overseas Global Challenges Program is a great opportunity for students to study a wide range of topics related to current challenges we face as global citizens. 

The programme topics are likely to include but are not limited to: international relations, global politics, international development, foreign policy, Europe now and after Brexit, migration, populations, sustaiability, climate change and the major global players, such as Russia, China and the USA. Potential site visits and cultural visits may include: Cambridge University offers a number of weekend excursions and walking tours, possibly including a tour of the city, and visits to Bletchley Park or Windsor Castle. Punting on the River Cam is a must!

Credit equivalent

One Term = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units for one term successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application

All applicants must meet the standard UQ Student Eligibility Criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by AIM Overseas. 

AIM Overseas programs are highly competitive and fill up fast so be sure to get your application in as early as possible.

Costs

The program fee is approximately $5,485 - $6,820 AUD.

Applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by mid-May if they are eligible for travel grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.

OS-HELP Loan

If you participate in a short-term program you may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student.
