I decided to do this experience as it was a course which I felt was lacking in my studies. I have also always been interested in the American culture. Prior to the experience, I always thought we were quite similar to Americans, but I now know there is a lot more to the culture than at first glance. I also have learnt skills which I can now use at both universities and my professional career.

My favourite memory would be the UNCC Basketball game. It was so great to see the school spirit that UNC has for their school.
My advice for future participants would be to watch what you eat. It's hard to find fresh food in the southern part of America so lots of burgers and pizza were consumed! Also, take heaps of vitamins and pack all the medicine you need. We all got so sick and my doctors trip including medication was $300!!!
