The ACICIS Virtual Journalism Professional Practicum runs for six weeks and include a two-week intensive Indonesian language study and industry-led seminars, followed by a four-week supervised industry placement. 

The Virtual Journalism Professional Practicum provides an opportunity for students of journalism, media and communication, to gain valuable experience working in the field of media in Indonesia.  Host organisations cover a wide range of media sector interests and include international news wire services, national news bureaus, national dailies, and major domestic broadcasters and radio stations.

Credit 

Credit will be only available to students who are offered New Colombo Plan Mobility Funding and meet funding criteria.

Credit instructions will be sent to eligible students once an application to UQ is submitted.

All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and any additional eligibility criteria set by ACICIS.

Cost

The tuition fee is approximately $2,700 AUD. Administration fees are not included. More information regarding fees can be found on the host program website. 

A limited number of $3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants may be available for eligible participants. As this funding is managed by ACICIS, please contact ACICIS with any queries.

Not-for-credit applicants may also be eligible for UQ-specific funding. Applicants will be notified by late-October if they are eligible for grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences Team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.
