Fudan University International Summer Session
The Fudan University International Summer Session is a 4-week program that combines academic learning and cultural immersion for students from all over the world. You will have the chance to explore China, discover Shanghai and become part of the Fudan community. You will also interact with International students and learn from each other.
This program will enhance your intercultural competence, broaden your global perspective, and connect you with peers from all over the world. Experience Chinese culture and the wonders of Shanghai through extracurricular and social activities that will enhance multicultural understanding and establish a global vision.

Credit equivalent
2 credits = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 4 UQ Units if 4 credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).
Visa Information
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience criteria and the Fudan entry requirements.
This program impacts on UQ semester 2, 2026 dates. UQ students must meet the additional special conditions for programs that impact on teaching dates.
It is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences team at least 4 weeks before the host application deadline to allow sufficient time for faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.
The Global Experiences team will nominate you for the FISS program following the UQ application deadline. Following approval of your nomination, you will recieve detailed application procedures from Fudan University and will be required to submit an application for the experience by the host application deadline.
Cost
The participation mode of this experience is Exchange, meaning you are responsible for paying tuition fees to UQ instead of the host.

Accommodation
On-campus dormitory accommodation may be available for the duration of the program at an additional cost. For more information regarding accommodation, please see the host university website.
Funding
Global Experiences Grants
When you submit your application for an experience, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the Short-Term Experiences Funding page for details.
OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an OS-HELP loan if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.
